Now Entering Year 3

Last month Eric and I celebrated our second anniversary by staying at a Bed & Breakfast in Harrodsburg, KY. If you don't know where Harrodsburg, it's okay. I didn't either. But what's important to know is that they have a drive-in movie theater. I didn't even know these still existed!

We spent part of the day in their downtown area. There weren't many shops, and most of them were closed, but we had a good time anyway.

Castle?

Since there wasn't much to see in town, we headed north a ways to Shaker Village. It was refreshing to spend an afternoon around farm animals, open fields, and fresh air - the city life is not conducive to such pleasures...

Up close and personal:

This lady gave a presentation in the Shakers' old church building. She explained about their worship and even sang a few of their songs. One of the songs included these words:

Come life, Shaker life, Come life Eternal,
Shake, shake out of me, All that is carnal.

While singing these phrases over and over, the Shakers would literally shake and dance as a physical display of dispelling "all that is carnal" from them.

And finally, this guy is the reason for the trip. The first two years have been a blast, and here's to many more years together. I love him. :)

Coming Soon: Baby Jude

Andy and Melanie are another couple in our small group who have been expecting. Since I took these pictures, they have given birth to a beautiful, precious, little boy. Hopefully there will be more pictures of Baby Jude in the next few weeks.

Andy gave her flowers. :)

Melanie was a great sport when I asked her to strike her model pose.

Kissing the dragon, even though she already has her prince...

And here he is... Congrats guys!

Abraham - A Boy Through and Through

Some of our best friends here in Louisville are Ben & Valerie, and they have the cutest little boy. Last weekend I borrowed him for a little sleepover so that Mom and Dad could get a break. I know you aren't supposed to play favorites, but if I was going to have a favorite little boy... Abraham might be my pick. :)

I said, "No, Abraham, don't touch the pen."
And he immediately held it out as if to say, "Please take them away! I don't want to get in trouble!"

His toy of choice? A plastic cup, of course!

So serious!

For months I have attempted to teach this boy to say my name. I hear reports from his mom and dad that he will say "becca" at home, but when I am around he will only call me "kaka, kaka, kaka." Yep, he thinks it's funny too...!

Abigail Grace: Any Day Now!

My husband Eric and I moved to Louisville just after we got married two years ago so that he could continue his education at Southern Seminary. Most of the good churches in the area are overflowing with other seminary students, which = young congregations = lots of babies. At any given time, we probably have at least 20 pregnant women at our church. No joke! To prove this point, of the six couples in our small group, we are the only one that does not have a baby or is not expecting. Josh and Kristen are one of these couples in our small group, and are anticipating the birth of their daughter any day!

Even though Josh and Kristen are preparing for the birth of their first child, they already have two boys of their own. They brought their dogs, Rocky and Simon, along for the family shoot.

Josh kept talking to the baby while we were shooting pictures. I can already tell he's going to be such a loving father.

"No, Josh, make the heart on Kristen's belly..."

We can't wait to meet you, Abigail!
